West Bridgford drug dealer and money launderer jailed for seven years

A West Bridgford drug dealer and money launderer has been locked up for seven years.

Jamie Hancock, 29, who was unemployed, couldn't answer how he had paid for luxury goods, as well as holidays to Jamaica, the Maldives, Amsterdam and Paris.

Officers carried out a warrant at his home in Whitcliffe Gardens, West Bridgford, on October 1.

After forcing entry into the flat they found Hancock - who had a previous conviction for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs - in the bathroom with his hand down the toilet bowl.

Police found a quantity of crack cocaine with a street value of £1,500 wrapped in cling film next to the toilet and £500 in cash on top of the toilet.

They also found digital weighing scales in the bathroom.

Elsewhere in the flat they also found bulking agent, wrapping and dealing materials, counterfeit cash and a bank note detector.

There were a number of designer trainers and designer clothes worth an estimated £10,000, with brands including Versace and Louis Vuitton.

Officers also seized a Porsche Macan and a motorcycle from outside the property.

Hancock pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, money laundering and possession of counterfeit currency and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, November 1.

Inspector Craig Berry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Hancock was living a lavish lifestyle that clearly didn't add up for someone who had been out of work for over two years and had a history of drug dealing.

"Community intelligence is vital in rooting out drug dealers in our neighbourhoods I would urge people to report their suspicions if they notice that people suddenly start splashing the cash despite having no apparent legitimate source of income.

"If we have that intelligence we will always do our very best to ensure crime does not pay."
