KOLKATA: Babul Supriyo, former minister in Narendra Modi government, submitted his nomination as Trinamool Congress candidate for Ballygunge assembly seat on Monday. He went to Survey Building to submit his nomination.
Babul said he is confident that he will win from Ballygunge.
Babul said that West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had sent her good wishes to him.
Babul has been an MP from Asansol twice in 2014 and 2019 on BJP ticket. However he switched over to the Trinamool Congress in September and resigned as an MP.
He said that he feels himself lucky for being nominated on the seat which earlier was represented by veteran minister Subrata Mukherjee who died on November 4.
"The opposition is saying bogus things against me. But I am sure that I will win", he said.
"We are chalking out a strategy to campaign and will also go to Asansol to campaign", he added.
