KOLKATA: The detective department's anti-rowdy section busted a fake call centre at Webel IT Park that cheated UK nationals.
"We raided the building on Monday and arrested seven people. Voice over Internet calls were made to UK residents. The accused gained remote access of the targets' computers through a software. Four hard disks, a router and various documents were seized. The accused were sent to police custody till August 25," said joint CP (crime) Murlidhar Sharma. Around 50 people have been arrested in fake BPO arrests in the past three months.
The cyber cell also arrested Jayesh Patidar (27) from Indore for committing fraud of Rs 6 lakh, using a fake WhatsApp account.
