West Belfast shooting probe after man in his 50s 'sustains gunshot wounds to his leg'

Detectives are investigating after a man was shot last night.

The man in his 50s 'sustained gunshot wounds to his leg' at a house in West Belfast .

Shots were reportedly fired at him through the front door of his home in the O'Neills Lane area at around 8:50pm on Thursday 3 October.

A PSNI spokesperson has appealed for witnesses.

He said: "A man in his 50s sustained gunshot wounds to his leg after shots were fired at him through the front door of his house at around 8:50pm.

"He is currently receiving hospital treatment for his injuries.

"Two males dressed in dark coloured track suits were seen leaving the area on foot in the direction of Brittons Parade following the shooting.

"Detectives would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or saw the two males at or near O'Neills Lane to contact them at Musgrave on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
