West Belfast security alert after 'suspicious package' left at Sinn Féin offices

Police are currently at the scene of a security alert in West Belfast.

Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey said a 'suspicious package' was left at the front gates of the Connolly House constituency office on the Andersonstown Road.

He added: "I am calling on those responsible for this to stop. You're not going to deter us from our work. We work very hard at our constituency services and at all of our offices right across the north and they will not deter us.

"We are calling for the people who have left this device here this evening to stop. Leave the scene and let us get on with fighting for our constituents on a day and daily basis to provide that service."

There are no further details at this time.
