West Belfast roundabout incident leads to attempted murder charge

A 46-year-old has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in West Belfast yesterday.

The Stewartstown Road in Poleglass was closed at Michael Ferguson roundabout on Monday.

Two men were subsequently arrested.

A PSNI spokesperson said today: "Detectives investigating an incident at the Michael Ferguson roundabout in West Belfast on Monday 14th September have charged a 46 year old man with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

"He is due to appear at Belfast MC on Tuesday 15th September.

"As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS."
