A gambling firm has honoured a West Belfast punter's bet after initially declaring part of it void.
Christopher Rafferty placed a treble last September which included South Africa to win the Rugby World Cup, Liverpool to clinch the Premier League, and Linfield to win the NIFL Premiership.
The £10 treble returned £530, but Christopher complained when bet365 only paid him out on a double after they voided the Linfield part of the bet.
The Irish League season ended early due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the Blues being crowned champions last week despite seven more rounds of fixtures to be played.
Now Christopher has been awarded the full winnings, after bet365 decided to honour the treble.
He was contacted by the firm on Thursday morning to say they had agreed to credit his account with the additional £336.88.
"I emailed them again yesterday to get a reference number to pass onto the betting adjudicator," Christopher said.
"bet365 then made contact with me this morning to say they would pay out on the bet. They didn't say why but they have credited my account.
"I am pleased to get it resolved. To be honest I didn't think I would get the full winnings, so I am pleasantly surprised."
Christopher - who jokingly admitted to being a secret Linfield fan over the past few weeks - says he doesn't know what he will spend his winnings on.
"I can't go on holiday or anything," he joked.
"I don't know what I'll buy but I dare say I'll think of something.
"It was an extra £330 which is a lot of money. It took a bit of persuasion for bet365 to pay out, but at least they honoured the bet in the end."
