West Belfast police arrest motorist after car collides with wall and 'reverses at police car'

A 35-year-old man has been arrested following a police pursuit in West Belfast this afternoon.

Officers say the vehicle was spotted being driven erratically in the Grosvenor Road area, just after 3pm on Thursday, May 28.

The driver of the car failed to stop for police, colliding with a wall and reversing at a police car, while heading towards the Ballymurphy area.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and dangerous driving.   

He remains in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.

Sergeant Connolly said: “Our enquiries continue, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101.

"Please quote reference number 1263 of 28/05/20.”
