Army Technical Officers are examining a suspicious object found on a residential street in West Belfast .
Police said they have cordoned off Falcarragh Drive in Lenadoon and that a number of homes have been evacuated.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "There's a security alert in Falcarragh Drive in west Belfast. A suspicious object is currently being examined.
"A number of homes have been evacuated and the street has been cordoned off at it's junctions with Suffolk Road and Kerrykeel Gardens."
