West Belfast GAA club suspends all activity after positive Covid-19 test

A West Belfast GAA club has suspended all club activities after a player tested positive for Covid-19.

Lámh Dhearg CLG issued a statement on Friday morning confirming a senior female player had tested positive for the virus.

In a statement, the club said: "The club would like to inform you that a senior lady footballer has unfortunately been tested positive with Covid-19.

"As such the club will be closed until further notice and all club activities will be suspended .

"We are currently liaising closely with the PHA and the GAA.

"A further statement will be released later .

"We also wish our player a speedy recovery and thanking you for your anticipated support."

The news comes after West Belfast club Gort na Mona CLG revealed on Tuesday that it had suspended all activity until August 26 after one of its players tested positive.
