A 30-year-old man has been charged with a number of motoring offences after a police vehicle was allegedly struck in the early hours.
The patrol car is reported to have been hit by a white Vauxhall Corsa in the Donegall Road area of Belfast at around 4am today.
Police made an arrest after the vehicle was found at Sliabh Dubh View in West Belfast.
The man has since been charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, failing to remain where accident occurred causing damage, failing to stop for police and fraud by false representation.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A 30-year-old man has been charged with a number of motoring offences including dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, failing to remain where accident occurred causing damage, failing to stop for police and fraud by false representation.
"He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday 23rd August. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the PPS."
There were no reports of any injuries.
