Wesley Sneijder tells Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez to snub Barcelona and join Real Madrid

Former Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder has told Lautaro Martinez to forget about Barcelona and move to Real Madrid in the future.

Martinez is Barca's top target this summer as they seek a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, but the Argentine has also attracted interest from Los Blancos.

"I don't like Barcelona, I played for Real Madrid," Sneijder – who helped Inter to a treble under Jose Mourinho in 2009-10 – told Sportsmail.

"Winning at Inter is a unique feeling. I did it and I wish he does it before leaving."

Standard Sport understands the striker favours a move to Camp Nou, but it remains to be seen whether the Catalans can meet his €111 million release clause this summer.

"I recommend Real Madrid to him," Sneijder said. "[He is] a player who is physically strong and mentally strong.

"I can only tell him to try to play for Real Madrid but only after many years at Inter."
