Wes Nelson has revealed that he is “chill” about ex-girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson being romantically linked to footballer Dele Alli.
Earlier this week, it was reported that former Love Island contestant Barton Hanson had “caught Alli's eye” on a night out.
Discussing the rumours with The Sun, Dancing On Ice hopeful Nelson implied that he was happy for his ex to move on.
“I’m chill. I’m doing my own thing,” he told the paper.
An insider also told the publication that the 20-year-old had been reassured by friends present on the night out that “nothing substantial happened” between his former girlfriend and the sportsman.
“He checked in with pals that were there at Tape club on Saturday night and they reassured him that nothing substantial happened between Megan and Dele,” the source said.
“Of course he wants to know when she starts dating another bloke but it’s definitely not his style to get angry or jealous.
“He’s concentrating on Dancing On Ice and training with Vanessa Bauer at the moment, that’s his only priority.”
In an Instagram post shared yesterday, Nelson reflected on “how fast life changes” and seemed to allude to the prospect of a new start, adding: “This is just the beginning, onwards and upwards.”
Earlier this week, a source told Standard Online that while Barton Hanson was “flattered” by the rumours, she “doesn’t want anything serious.”
The 24-year-old revealed that her and Nelson had parted ways last month with an Instagram statement that parodied Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s infamous “conscious uncoupling” announcement.
The pair also told fans that they would continue to “co-parent” their pet hamster, Jon Snow.
Nelson has since confirmed that his gruelling training schedule for Dancing On Ice was “heavily involved” in the break-up, and revealed that his ex wishes that he had never taken part in the show.
