Werner could replace Haaland at Dortmund as Rudiger contract talks stall

Welcome to our football .london CarefreeChelsea media watch piece. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Dortmund interested in Werner

Borussia Dortmund are considering four players in the event that Erling Haaland moves away from the club next summer. One of those four players is Timo Werner.

Werner was favoured over Tammy Abraham when Thomas Tuchel took charge last year. However, since the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, he’s struggled to become the main forward at Chelsea.

SportBild have reported that Dortmund are already considering replacements for Halaand. The 21-year-old Norweigan international was linked with a move to Manchester City this season, but the move never materialised.

Rudiger contract talks have stalled

According to The Times contract talks between Antonio Rudiger and Chelsea have stalled over wage demands. This leaves the risk of the club losing the player out to a transfer in the January transfer window.

With plenty of Europe’s elite football clubs reportedly interested, Chelsea have a key question to answer - offer Rudiger what he wants or let him leave in January rather than on a free in the summer and seek a replacement?

The financial impact on football because of the pandemic has seen many players leave on free transfers, take Lionel Messi for example. So, Chelsea will want to resolve this ongoing issue before January.

Fans excited over Havertz slick moves in training

Chelsea fans took to Twitter to respond to a clip of Kai Havertz in a training session, posted by the club.

The German international is seen using his close control skills and speedy footwork on the ball.

One fan tweeted “I’ve watched this 100 times”, whilst another said, “I’ve think we’ve not yet seen the best of Kai.”
