Werder Bremen offer transfer update on rumoured Liverpool target's future

Werder Bremen have dismissed the possibility of selling goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka to Liverpool this summer.

Jurgen Klopp could be in the market for a new senior shot-stopper to serve as backup to Alisson with Simon Mignolet tipped to depart Anfield after 18 months on the sidelines.

“I’m not thinking about it yet,” the Belgian told  Derniere Heure when asked about his future after the Champions League final.

“Since we’re playing in the final, I’ve focused on training, there’s a lot of talk about my future, but I’ll only think about it after playing in the national team.

“So I’m not worried.”

Pavlenka has been linked with a summer transfer to Anfield as a possible replacement for Mignolet, with a potential swap deal for Loris Karius even mooted.

However, Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Bauman has dismissed the possibility of the Czech Republic international leaving the club.

“We plan with Pavlenka for the new season,” he told  Weser-Kurier .  “There is no offer from Juventus or Liverpool for Jiri Pavlenka.”

The 27-year-old's current contract with the Bremen runs until 2021.
