Wendy Williams is calling it quits with husband Kevin Hunter after 21 years of marriage.
The Wendy Williams Show host has been known to speak publicly about her personal issues in the past but has kept her recent familial drama quiet. While the TV host wasn’t wearing her ring on air yesterday morning, she didn’t mention any marital disputes.
Since the news of the split dropped Thursday, the family has asked for privacy. The couple has one son, Kevin Jr., 19.
“Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time. Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together,” Williams’ representative told People. “No additional comment will be provided at this time.”

Hunter, 46, has been a support system for her during these recent struggles.“Only Kevin knows about [the sober house]. Not my parents, nobody. A representative from The Wendy Williams Show also released a separate statement on the split. “Wendy and her family have been a part of Debmar-Mercury for over 10 years,” it read. “We respect their privacy regarding personal matters. As always, we remain committed to bringing an entertaining and topical show to our viewers.”
Along with her recent commitment to the sober house, Williams has been healing from a fractured shoulder and grappling with a Grave’s Disease diagnosis, a disorder that causes the thyroid to be overactive. These past few months have seemed rough on the television host - hopefully, calmer times are in her future.
