With its majestic modern arch and terrific views from each of its 90,000 seats, Wembley Stadium has been crowned the king of sporting landmarks.
The iconic, spiritual home of football pushed cricket’s hallowed ground Lord’s into second place while Wimbledon’s Centre Court tennis arena was third.
Rugby, Formula 1, horse racing, golf, snooker and rowing were all represented while Premier League football clubs also battled it out with Manchester Utd’s Old Trafford taking seventh spot, ahead of rival ground Anfield, home to title holders Liverpool which came 12th.

A survey of 2,000 sports fans found four in 10 felt the look of a sports ground was important along with the seating capacity.
And as well as missing live action, seven in 10 said they yearned for the rituals too such as a pre-match pint, taking their regular seat alongside someone they only ever saw on match days and wearing their lucky socks or pants.
The study by sauce maker Tabasco found half missed the raucous crowd noise and a fifth even longed for the queue for a half time pie.
Six in 10 revealed they tried to recreate the atmosphere at home by stocking up with beer and snacks.
Pizza was the top choice, followed by fish and chips, Chinese, pies and pasties as match day grub.
A Tabasco spokesperson said: “We know people have really missed out on big sporting events this year and while some sport has returned, it’s TV viewing only for fans.
"It’s clear to see it’s not just the game itself that people are missing, but everything else that makes live sports so exciting from the noise of the crowd and seeing friends you only meet at the game, right through to grabbing a pint beforehand and queuing up for an infamous half time pie.
"However, it’s great to see Brits get creative while watching the game on the sofa with new matchday rituals appearing including getting a takeaway, loading up on snacks ahead of time not to mention those that have now have a lucky pair of slippers."
