Wembley crash: Moped rider, 17, dies after collision with car on busy north-west London road

A man was shot by armed police last night

A teenager has been killed after his moped collided with a car on a busy road in north-West London.

The 17-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after the crash but died the following day.

Police and paramedics were called to High Road, Wembley, at the junction of Thurlow Gardens just before 7.30pm on Sunday, September 1.

A woman in her 20s, who was driving the Volkswagen Golf, stopped at the scene and is now assisting with police enquiries.

The moped driver's next of kin have been informed.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The Met Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

A Met Police statement said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who witnesses the collision, witnessed any of the vehicles driving prior to the incident or has any dash cam footage to contact them on 101 quoting reference."
