Welshpool Sainsbury's store goes on the market with supermarket giant set to leave site

A Sainsbury's store in Wales has gone on the market with the supermarket giant set to leave the site this summer.

The chain announced in March it would close its Welshpool site - with closure set to take place in July.

Now the 11,519 sq ft unit has been placed on the market for let with commercial agents Fletcher Morgan.

They said: "The subject property comprises a purpose built supermarket arranged over ground floor sales area with lower ground floor storage/ancillary together with on site car parking.

"Available by way of an assignment of the existing lease which is due to expire on 12/10/2031."

It is available for an annual rent of £115,643.

The supermarket chain announced in 2019 that it would be closing 15 stores over the next two years.
