Welsh vineyard is second most Instagrammable in the UK

A Welsh vineyard has been named the second most Instagrammable attraction of its kind in the UK.

The World of Wine report by in house investment experts analysed 700 vineyards listed on The Great British Vineyards Guide to find the ones that features the most times on Instagram in Britain.

Second place was scooped by Llanerch Vineyard, a hotel in the Vale of Glamorgan set within 22 acres of woodlands and vineyards.

The vineyard, which has a royal seal of approval, has been hashtagged on Instagram more than 5,000 times, showing pictures of the venue being used for weddings to people posed in front of the crops to their afternoon teas of pastries and cakes.

Among the photos are also snaps of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall who visited at the beginning of last July in her role as president of GB Wines.

She visited as part of the hotel’s 10-year anniversary celebrations, and met staff and suppliers, planted a vine and tried the Cariad blush wine.

She congratulated owner Ryan Davies on his “incredible vineyard”.

She said, “I’d like to congratulate you on the wonderful job you’ve done here at this incredible vineyard.

“We’re really getting it right in this country and giving the French a run for their money. I’ve loved my visit here and I hope I shall come back again to try your restaurant.”

The restaurant at Llanerch is award-winning and has an on-site cookery school. The venue also offers wine tasting and vineyard tour experiences.

They offer five varieties of their Cariad wine, including the sparkling blush, sparkling brut, dry white, off-dry white and rose.
