Welsh produce packed Christmas hamper boxes created by cluster of North Wales firms

A unique cluster project in North Wales has brought together food and drink producers from the region to create a range of delicious Christmas Hamper Boxes in which to showcase their products.

The hamper boxes include products from 18 companies, the majority of which are small, family run businesses that focus on quality and taste.

They all have incredible reputations locally and the hamper boxes give the businesses the opportunity to educate and capture a wider market.

The initiative, led by Aber Falls Whisky Distillery, is part of the Fine Food Cluster project, a business-led development programme supported by the Welsh Government and facilitated by Cywain.

James Wright, managing director at Aber Falls, said: “In addition to giving people the chance to sample the truly delicious food produced in North Wales, the cluster initiative opens a gateway to new markets for Welsh food and drink producers that independently they wouldn’t have been able to access.”

Margaret Ogunbanwo from Maggies Exotic Foods, whose chilli chutney is included in the Luxury Hamper Box, added: “The collaborative work that takes place amongst Welsh producers and businesses is amazing and the cluster just keeps providing more ideas and opportunities for Welsh businesses, and these hamper boxes are another example.”

The hamper boxes are available from Aber Falls’ new online shop.

Lawrence Washington, at Purple Moose Brewery said: “We can’t wait for new customers to get their hands on our most decorated beer, Dark Side of the Moose.”

Monty’s Brewery’s aptly named Ding Dong ale is included in the Savour Hamper Box and Russ Honeyman, said: “I can’t think of anything better to be given this Christmas than a hamper of fabulous Welsh products to savour and enjoy!”

Emma Morris from Trailhead Fine Foods, whose beef jerky is included in the Savory Hamper Box said: “We’re really excited to be featured in this cluster hamper; it’s amazing to see Welsh food and drink producers joining forces to provide a great hamper offering.”
