Welsh IT firm moves head office to impressive Derbyshire business centre

A website development and digital marketing firm which was founded in Wales has moved its head office to Derbyshire.

Solid Designs has taken space at the Ednaston Park business centre, on the A52 between Derby and Ashbourne.

Previously located in Llandysul, West Wales, the company directors took the decision to relocate their family to Ashbourne and needed a new base from which to run their operation.

With clients spread across the UK ranging from architects to stadiums to holiday cottages, Ednaston Park will become the firm’s new head office.

Sally Barber, originally from Ashbourne, and her husband and business partner Jaime, have kept their office in West Wales, where colleagues will continue to operate.

Ednaston Park business centre was formerly a nursing home (Ednaston Park)

Sally said: “Growing up in Ashbourne and with family and friends still here, there was always a pull to come home.

“It’s been fantastic to rediscover the area and all it has to offer. We’re really excited to expand the business and offer our services to new clients across Derbyshire.”

Jaime said: “We needed a well-located office offering a professional service and high-spec facilities.

The property between Derby and Ashbourne is now home to a number of businesses (CWC Group)

“Ednaston Park is a good balance between a peaceful setting and a growing business community. We look forward to getting to know the other businesses based here.”

Formerly St Mary’s nursing home, Ednaston Park was purchased by property investment and development company CWC Group in September, 2017.

It has since undergone a sympathetic refurbishment to transform the building and grounds into an impressive business centre, which launched in November last year.

It offers a range of office accommodation, including space for small businesses that are looking to rent an office for the first time, those looking to take on staff, as well as those looking for a regional presence.

Lucy Delaney, business centre manager at Ednaston Park, said: “We’re delighted that Solid Designs has chosen to base their new office at Ednaston Park business centre.

“We aim to make the moving-in process as simple and smooth as possible to reduce the downtime for the company, which is really important to Jaime and Sally when simultaneously moving their home and business.”
