Welsh Government has confirmed it has agreed the sale of two plots of land at a regeneration site in Gwynedd that has been empty for 20 years.
Plans for Parc Bryn Cegin in Bangor were first submitted in 2000 but the 90 acre industrial park has so far failed to secure any tenants despite European cash paying for infrastructure works in 2005.
In 2015, Liberty Properties Developments Ltd were selected by the Welsh Government to create a 400-job cinema and restaurant scheme at the entrance to the site but this has been hit by problems in the chain restaurant sector and then the pandemic.
Last month Business Live revealed the Economy minister had agreed the sale of land at the park for industrial units although at that point no further details were available.
The issue was raised today at the Senedd by Arfon MS Sian Gwenllian.
She said: "It is scandalous that not a single job has been created in this park after almost 20 years.
"What is the long term plan for this park and is selling these good news or a signal the government had given up entirely in bringing jobs to this important site?"
North Wales minister Lesley Griffiths said the sale of two plots had been agreed by Economy minister Vaughan Gething and that a number of further enquiries are being progressed.
She added that there has been a spike in market interest with a number of enquiries and they were working with the North Wales Economic Ambition Board and Gwynedd council in order to develop the site.
