Welsh castles you can visit now as some attractions are allowed to re-open

If you're keen to get out and about to explore this summer you do have the benefit of some of Wales' Cadw sites re-opening to the public once more.

Forty three of the castles as well as some other outdoor monuments are open and are unstaffed. You can see the full list below.

Other unstaffed monuments in Cadw’s care will re-open later this summer as soon as essential site maintenance, risk assessments and new safety measures are completed and introduced to ensure a safe and socially distanced visitor experience.

Cadw is encouraging visitors to keep Wales safe by avoiding extensive travel to these sites where possible.

As for staffed sites, Cadw is also preparing to re-open most of them in line with guidance from Welsh Government later in the summer. This will see the introduction of new visitation guidelines and restricted visitor numbers through advanced online ticketing.
