Welsh boxer and Swansea City fan Jay Harris secures impressive victory over Paddy Barnes in Belfast

Welsh boxer Jay Harris extended his professional record to 17-0 with a convincing win over Paddy Barnes in Ulster.

Harris - owner of the Commonwealth and EBU Flyweight titles - put The Leprechaun on the canvas in the third round and claimed victory in the fourth after a devastating body shot left Barnes unable to continue.

It was the ninth time Harris - an avid Swansea City fan - has stopped an opponent since his first pro bout in 2013.

Victory at Ulster Hall saw him claim the IBF Intercontinental Flyweight title.

After the bout, Northern Irishman Barnes - a two-time Olympic bronze medalist - admitted he would consider his future in the sport after suffering defeat for the third time.

The contest was shown live on ESPN+ in the United States and globally on IFL TV.
