Welsh Apprentice contestant fired by Alan Sugar now worth £16m and driving a Ferrari

A Welsh contestant who was fired from The Apprentice is now a multi-millionaire.

Alex Mills was 22 years old when he appeared on the BBC show in 2013 where he was fired after a disastrous and excruciating sales pitch for a horror-themed ready meal.

His unforgettable stern demeanour made him one of the unlikely stars of the ninth series, MirrorOnline reports.

But eight years on he's proved the doubters, and Lord Sugar, wrong.

His insurance firm Dynamo Cover is already worth £16 million and he drives a head-turning red Ferrari 488.

Alex employs 30 people in Barry and now aged 30 has just been named one of the highest earning young people in the UK.

He made it down to the last seven candidates of the reality show before being sacked by the unimpressed tycoon after a task failure.

Lord Sugar told him: “Alex, I think you’re a young, enthusiastic chap and I want to send you off with a bit of advice.

"Stick at something – you are going to succeed."

Since hearing those words, he hasn't looked back and now turns over millions every year.

But Alex has a cheeky message for Lord Sugar, saying: “I tell you what, he isn’t having half my business for just 250 grand now!"

At first Alex ran a company making gravestones but switched his focus instead to insurance and has made a mint.

Alex is in good company on the under-30 rich list which includes Little Mix as the highest earning young, female musicians in the UK, and Ed Sheeran who maintained his position as the highest earning young musician.

Footballer Marcus Rashford has now also joined the rich list.
