Wellington Street in Glasgow city centre shut down amid ongoing police incident

Wellington Street in the heart of Glasgow city centre has been shut down amid an ongoing police incident.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic and Control Management Team (TRAFFCOM) confirmed at 8.35am this morning the street has been closed between St Vincent Street and Bothwell Street.

They advised: "Due to an on-going incident, Wellington Street has been closed between St Vincent Street and Bothwell Street."

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live they were in nearby St Vincent Lane earlier this morning after reports a man had fallen and that they were on hand to assist the road closure.

Police were called to the area at 7.45am this morning.

UPDATE: Glasgow City Council have confirmed Wellington Street is now open.
