'Well, we do need a Finisher' - Bristol Rovers fans react as club sign international goalkeeper

Graham Coughlan admits that if he had things his way in the transfer market, he would have announced a number of marquee attacking players by now.

But such are the vagaries of the summer window, offensive players tend to bide their time, waiting on offers and arrive at clubs towards the end of July.

It should come as little surprise, therefore, that the latest addition to Coughlan's burgeoning squad performs at the other end of the field with the Gas have added a second new goalkeeper .

has signed following the expiry of his contract at Championship club Reading making Bristol the eighth destination of a well-travelled career.

The 32-year-old has played in his native country, Italy, the Czech Republic, Scotland, South Africa and, most recently, England having spent three years with Reading.

Jaakola will now compete with fellow new arrival Jordi van Stappershoef for the No1 position at the club, succeeding Jack Bonham.
