Rangers pub unveils tribute to Queen Elizabeth following death

A WELL-KNOWN Rangers football pub in Glasgow has unveiled a tribute to the Queen following her death.

The Bristol Bar, on Duke Street, shared pictures on Twitter showing the Queen's image imprinted onto the front door shutters of the bar.

Above it, another tribute shows the monarch with the words "Queen Elizabeth II - 1926 - 2022".

After her death, the east-end pub tweeted: "All at The Bristol Bar are extremely saddened by the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.

"A lifetime of public service leaves us with an enormous debt of gratitude.

"Our sympathies and thoughts are with the Royal Family. Sleep tight your Majesty."

In June, the sports pub underwent a transformation, changing its name to "Queen Elizabeth Arms" to mark her Platinum Jubilee.

Inside the pub, the royal coat of arms is featured on a rug while red, white and blue balloons are seen all around with multiple pictures of the Queen on the walls.

And in November, a tank was parked outside the pub as part of Remembrance Sunday commemorations.

The huge armoured vehicle was pictured on the road beside the Bristol Bar as the nation observed a two-minute silence to remember those who have fought in conflict.

The Duke Street pub and the tank had also been decorated with poppies.
