Well-known Dublin drug gang stung in massive 14 CAB search cash and cars seizure

A well-known Dublin drug gang was stung as part of a massive operation conducted by the Criminal Assets Bureau.

The Organised Crime Group had serious quantities of cash and cars seized and frozen following a staggering 14 CAB searches in Dublin this morning.

As part of these searches, several residential dwellings, a sports club, various business premises - one of which is a motor dealership - dental businesses and four professional searches took place.

During the sting op, €13,200 was seized by officers while €35,921 was frozen in a bank account.

As well as this, several BMW and Ford vehicles were taken by CAB and records in relation to a number of significant property transactions were also discovered.

CAB were assisted by the Emergency Response Unit and the Customs Dog Unit during the early morning wake up call for the drug gang.

A CAB spokesman told Dublin Live: "This morning’s operation targeted an Organised Crime Group involved in drug trafficking.

"Along with targeting assets linked to the OCG, the operation also targeted the outlets employed by the OCG to launder the proceeds of crime."

He added: "Today’s operation marks a significant development in the on-going proceeds of crime investigation."
