'Well-established' cannabis plantation discovered in caravans during raid in Newark

Around 200 cannabis plants have been found following a raid at a caravan park in Newark.

Nottinghamshire Police said the grow was "well-established" within the shells of four static caravans in Tolney Lane.

No arrests were made as there were no people present during the warrant, which took place early on Wednesday, July 1.

An investigation has now been launched into the circumstances behind the large cannabis grow.

Inspector Heather Sutton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are continuously working hard to tackle drug crime and this morning’s results are extremely positive.

“We will not tolerate drug crime and we will continue to investigate suspicious activity.

“I’d like to thank the residents on Tolney Lane for their cooperation whilst this warrant was carried out.

“I urge anyone who has information about this particular supply to call us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
