The government has urged those who did not meet the criteria for the state welfare card programme to review their eligibility and related personal data before Friday.
Deputy government spokeswoman Lalida Persvivatana said applicants who dispute the assessment results or suspect errors in the personal data used during screening may seek a review before the deadline. The reconsideration period was approved by the cabinet on Monday and runs until Friday.
Ms Lalida said the review process is not only beneficial for rechecking eligibility for welfare benefits, but also provides an opportunity for citizens to detect and correct inaccurate information in government databases.
Cases that citizens should pay attention to include finding their name appearing as a director, shareholder or employee of a business they were never aware of or involved in, as well as inaccurate vehicle information, according to Ms Lalida.
Correcting the data could reduce the risk of citizens facing tax or legal problems.
The public can request a review of their personal data at the one-stop service centres located at the provincial and district levels, covering 76 provinces and 878 districts.
Those wishing to request a review of their eligibility must submit their request by Friday.
Data corrections must be completed by Sept 20 before the benefits from the welfare card scheme begin on Oct 1. The public can check relevant details at welfare.mof.go.th.
