Welcome Villain Films has recently announced its acquisition of the supernatural, found footage horror feature 'Puzzle Box' from talented writer-director Jack Dignan. The film is set to make its debut at the Unnamed Footage Festival on March 29, with a wider release scheduled for the upcoming months. 'Puzzle Box' marks the sixth film produced by Welcome Villain Films since 2023.
The storyline of 'Puzzle Box' revolves around a recovering drug addict named Kait, who seeks solace in a secluded house in the woods to undergo self-rehabilitation. Accompanied by her sister Olivia, who decides to document the process, the duo encounters eerie occurrences as the house's layout inexplicably transforms, trapping them within a nightmarish puzzle box of a house.
Jack Dignan expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, 'We are currently in the golden age of horror, and I am honored to be a part of it. If my first film, 'After She Died,' was likened to a dream, then 'Puzzle Box' is the nightmare. This spine-chilling, mind-bending found footage horror film promises to terrify and captivate audiences, offering an unforgettable experience that defies expectations. Welcome Villain Films, known for their dedication to the horror genre, is the perfect platform for this release, and I am thrilled to collaborate with such passionate individuals.'
'Puzzle Box' initially premiered at the prestigious Popcorn Frights Film Festival and garnered acclaim by winning the Best International Feature award at the Dead Northern Horror Film Festival in the United Kingdom.
