Welcome to Wrexham season 2 - what we know so far, streaming details and likely release date

Fans of the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham will be eagerly anticipating the second installment.

The first series chartered the story of National League side Wrexham after they were taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. While it showcased the Red Dragons' 2021/22 season on the pitch, culminating in a thrilling 5-4 loss to Grimsby Town in the play off semi-finals, the programme also took a behind the scenes look at what was happening off the pitch.

After the season finale aired in October 2022, McElhenney announced a second series would be coming out in 2023. He tweeted: "Oops. Sorry. Tonight is the last episode of season 1 of Welcome to Wrexham. Season 2 will return next year.

When will it air?

It is unclear at this stage exactly when the next series will be available to watch. Last year, the National League season ended in May and Welcome to Wrexham was released the following August. What will it cover?

Across 18 episodes in the first series, Welcome to Wrexham covered all aspects of the Red Dragons' season. This year, we are likely to see the same again with a focus on; the title race with Notts County, the FA Cup run, former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster signing and the pre-season friendly with United being announced.
