'Welcome to United' - Man Utd fans excited about video of ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

Manchester United fans have taken to social media after a clip of Mauricio Pochettino was shared online.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss was sacked by Spurs in November and replaced by Jose Mourinho, following a poor run of form that left the clubs Premier League and Champions League campaign under threat.

But his work in north London has established him as one of Europe's leading coaches, with a host of clubs reportedly interested in his service.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester United have all been heavily linked, and events on Tuesday further fuelled speculation after the Argentine was captured on camera with Manchester United's PR advisor Neil Ashton at Brentford's Championship clash with Leeds United.

Ashton, formerly of The Sun and the host of Sky Sport's Sunday Supplement, announced his exit from both companies to launch a PR firm, landing United as one his first major clients.

A key task of Ashton's is improving the relationship of chief executive Ed Woodward with disgruntled Manchester United fans, who have been vocal with their criticism towards him.

“[Woodward]’s a guy that absolutely loves Manchester United. I want to change perception of not only himself but the ownership of the club," he told the Guardian.

Being seen alongside Ashton may have been a coincidence, but that didn't stop United supporters taking to social media to react.

Pochettino has revealed his desire to return to the Premier League, amid the ongoing speculation.

"To be honest, I would love to work in the Premier League. It's going to be difficult, I know, and for now it's a moment to wait and we'll see what happens," he told the In The Pink Podcast.

"It's a moment of recovery, to think about yourself a little bit, and to be ready because in football always something can happen and you need to be ready.

"I'm ready and waiting for a new challenge. I have the belief and confidence that the next challenge will be fantastic.

"If we move to Europe, we are going to miss England."
