Welcome to Dub Nation, Jimmer Fredette!

The offseason just got more interesting for the Golden State Warriors. Adding to the growing list of new names and faces set to tilt for the Warriors at Summer League is Jimmer Fredette.

In an interview on 95.7 The Game, assistant general manager Larry Harris told on-air personalities Joe Lo and Dibs that NBA veteran Fredette will be on the Warriors’ Summer League roster.

Fredette, an eight-year NBA veteran, has played out his career in journeyman fashion, appearing for five teams: Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks and, most recently, the Phoenix Suns.

Although Fredette hasn’t managed many minutes or big box score showings while in the NBA (career averages of six points, 1.4 assists and one rebound per game), he shined while at Brigham Young where, during his senior season, he averaged 29 points per game.

But if Fredette can get the playing time in Summer League that he never saw with the Kings, Bulls, Pelicans, Knicks or Suns, maybe he will have a chance to earn a spot on the Warriors’ bench as the team rebuilds its roster that was depleted by injuries during the Finals. Even before the injuries, the Warriors’ bench struggled, so stacking the bench also is of utmost concern.
