'Welcome to Arsenal' - Gunners fans have an amazing theory about Mauricio Pochettino statement

Arsenal supporters are putting two and two together and coming up with what they think is four.

Pressure is mounting on head coach Unai Emery's shoulders following a poor start to the 2019/20 season.

Arsenal have not won in five Premier League games and are well off the Champions League pace.

Emery's future is hanging in the balance, with the Arsenal hierarchy keen to give him time, but that time and their patience is running out, particularly after a poor 2-2 draw with struggling Southampton at the weekend.

A number of managers have been linked with replacing Emery, with Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo the frontrunner for the job.

However, there has been plenty of talk around Mauricio Pochettino too after he was sacked by Arsenal's fierce rivals Tottenham last week.

Pochettino spent five-and-a-half years at Spurs and previously stated he would never manage the Gunners because of his Tottenham connections.

However, sacking a manager does strange things to a person and Pochettino has released a statement that has got all Arsenal fans talking.

In it he said: "I would like to thank everyone I met at Tottenham, all the club staff and the football players during these five and a half years.

"Finally I would like to give a special mention to the fans who make this club so great with their fantastic support.

"Best wishes for the future, I am sure we will cross paths again."

And it is that final line which has got the Arsenal fans' tongues wagging.

They have come up with the amazing theory that "we will cross paths again" means he is going to cross the divide and be the man to replace Emery at the Emirates.

It looks set to be a case of watch this space.
