"Welcome back from your long holiday": Police arrest man who was wanted for 10 years

Police have arrested a man who has been wanted for the past 10 years.

Officers from the Greater Manchester Police Moss Side and Hulme branch completed two stop and searches in Hulme at around 9pm on Saturday evening.

One of the males who they stopped was arrested having being wanted for 10 years.

Police have been searching for him in relation to robbery and burglary charges since 2009.

The circumstances surrounding the decade-old crime are unknown.

In a post on the GMP Longsight & Moss Side Facebook page, officers joked as they said to the man: "Welcome back from your long holiday".

Facebook users commented on the post offering praise to the force.

One said: "Well done, great result".

Another posted: "Thank you for keeping everyone safe".
