‘Welcome’ – Arsenal fans have Erling Haaland transfer dream after his Martin Odegaard message

Although he is only 21 years of age, Erling Haaland has already established himself as one of the best and most prolific strikers in Europe.

With his release clause at Borussia Dortmund reportedly set to be reduced to £68million in 2022, the biggest clubs around will be after his signature once again.

Chelsea tried to sign him in the summer, but after failing to agree a fee with Dortmund, the Blues opted for Romelu Lukaku instead.

Meanwhile, Haaland’s Norway teammate, Martin Odegaard, completed a summer transfer to Arsenal from Real Madrid following an initial six-month loan in north London.

The 22-year-old is already a fan favourite at the Emirates and appears to be a key part of Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans.

Arsenal may need a long-term replacement for Alexandre Lacazette as early as January, as the striker looks set to run down his contract at the Emirates. The Gunners have been linked to several names in recent weeks, including the likes of Alexander Isak, Noa Lang and Victor Osimhen.

Although signing one of those three names instead of Haaland seems more realistic, some Arsenal fans have been dreaming of a potential move, especially after an old interview of Odegaard and Haaland re-emerged on social media site Reddit.

In the interview – that incidentally took place during the forward’s Red Bull Salzburg days – Haaland admitted that he loves playing with Odegaard.

“He’s a good kid, and we click well,” he said.

“When you play with him, you just feel that everything clicks. He’s going to find me with those through passes.”

With that in mind, Arsenal fans have imagined what it’d be like for Odegaard to find Haaland in red and white.

Take a look at what’s been said.

It’s obviously an unlikely transfer, but stranger things have happened in football before.
