Weight loss: Bhumi Pednekar promotes eating in a steel thali for health conscious eaters, here's why

Bhumi Pednekar is one actress who does not shy away from voicing her opinions on anything. She has always been big on ecological balance and environment conservation which includes her love for wildlife and sustainability. She recently talked about her preference for Indian thalis while having food because she did not prefer using multiple thalis and bowls for a single meal. The Indian thali contains multiple compartments and divisions that can accommodate a variety of vegetable and curry preparations along with chapatti and rice. The big fat Indian platter that she had was featured on her Instagram handle as the actress channeled her inner foodie but did not leave the environmentalist behind. The thali contained white jeera rice topped with coriander leaves and a dry spicy curry beside it. There also was dal makhani with some cream in another section. A serving of boondi raita garnished with coriander was also included in the thali. Talking about the reasons that made the thali a favorite of hers, Bhumi Pednekar wrote, “Sustainable, reusable, helps with portion control and hassle-free. The great Indian thali." She also backed her post by sharing how she has been eating the thali for eleven years now, considering the many benefits that it has for health and the planet.

Bhumi has often shared her fondness for food with her fans and followers through her posts and interviews. It is also common knowledge now that Bhumi lost a huge amount of weight post her debut movie, ‘Dum lagake haisha’. Even till date, she continues to relish various delicacies in the middle of her elaborately planned out workout regime and diet. Her cheat day meals mostly make it to her Instagram handle and are extremely drool-worthy. Such posts by actors promote and normalize the notion of a balanced lifestyle that is not entirely about abstinence but also includes occasional indulgence. This one particularly garnered a lot of praise for her considerate attitude and simplicity. A few months ago, Bhumi also shared pictures of her favorite winter delicacy which was a simple potato-peas preparation with makke ki roti.

The actress’ love for simple, home-cooked meals has been visible ever since she rose to fame. Her Instagram handle and other social media pages are also flooded with pictures of food. However, it is noteworthy how Bhumi uses her platform for spreading awareness regarding the environment and other good causes that she endorses. During the lockdown, the actress turned vegetarian and shared how her conscience did not allow her to eat animals anymore. Sharing such inspiring lifestyle changes, Bhumi has been a great source of inspiration.
