Weetabix settles age-old milk order debate with very controversial answer

If cereal is on the menu for you in the mornings, you'll likely have a routine way you put the cereal and milk into the bowl.

Much like the chicken and egg debate, however, people just can't seem to decide whether you put the cereal in and pour the milk around it, or whether you add the milk and then submerge the cereal into it. What do you do?

Well, if you've been doing it any other way than how Weetabix has suggested, sorry to say you've been doing it wrong. Weetabix has settled the debate once and for all in a response to former Top Gear host James May.

James May tweeted: "Who, the bl**dy hell, puts the milk in the bowl first and then the cornflakes? Just seen this happen and it disturbed me."

People behind the Weetabix social media account were quick to respond, however, with a video showing exactly how cereal and milk should be prepared.

"Rules were meant to be broken James", they shared, with a suspicious eyes emoji. They also posted a video, showing a bowl of milk with Weetabix being added to it.

James simply tweeted in response saying: "Lunatics", not agreeing with the order that they had shown. Some people saw the logic, however, with one tweeting: "It's a bit like running the bath then. You don't sit there and turn the tap on?"

"Verging on the behaviour of a sociopath in my opinion", someone disagreed. "It all makes sense now!", another wrote.

A confused father tweeted: "After some consideration (and watching the thoughtfully supplied video) I think I will continue putting cereal in the bowl first, then adding the appropriate amount of milk.

"My son would be wholly perplexed, as he skips the milk step completely."

Others decided to share their quirky methods of eating Weetabix, with one saying: "I sometimes have dry Weetabix and a glass of mix to wash down."

But another quipped: "Quite clearly you've never watched any of your own adverts where you are clearly pouring the milk over the Weetabix..."

How do you eat your cereal? Let us know in the comments.
