Weetabix recalling ASDA and Morrisons fruit and fibre cereals as plastic found

Weetabix is recalling fruit and fibre breakfast cereals from both ASDA and Morrisons because they may contain "small pieces of plastic".

The Weetabix Food Company has issued a product recall for 'ASDA Fruit & Fibre' and 'Morrisons Fruit and Fibre', however no other products from the food processing company are affected.

It has issued the recall because the products are "unsafe to eat".

The product details are as follows:

ASDA Fruit & Fibre

Pack size - 500g

Batch Code - 9095

Best before - April 5, 2020

Morrisons Fruit and Fibre

Pack size - 500g

Batch Code - 9095

Best before - April 5, 2020

A statement from the company reads: "These products may contain pieces of plastic which makes them unsafe to eat.

"Weetabix Food Company is recalling the above products. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products.

"These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

"If you have bought the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund."
