Weeks before The Boys season 5 aired, that Homelander and A-Train scene was already foreshadowed by the actors

A-Train in The Boys season 5.

The Boys season 5 is now airing on Prime Video and the opening two episodes feature some huge moments. The biggest comes from a scene between Homelander and A-Train in the season premiere – and it seems the actors have been teasing us about it for weeks. Before we get into details, take this as your spoiler warning.

Now we know that A-Train is the big early casualty of the superhero show, with Homelander killing him in the closing minutes of the season premiere. After he helped Hughie, MM, and Frenchie escape from Freedom Camp 47, A-Train took off with Homelander in pursuit. It seemed like he was getting away before he fell out of super speed to save a young woman crossing the street (a real full-circle moment from season 1).

Homelander caught up with him and snapped his neck during a heated conversation in the woods. It was a brutal moment that proved the Prime Video show is not holding back in the new season. However, it also seems like the actors have been teasing the moment in plain sight for a few weeks.

In one of the pictures taken at The Boys season 5 premiere in Rome, Homelander star Antony Starr can be seen with his hands around A-Train actor Jessie T. Usher's neck. Check it out below.

The moment was first noticed by Twitter user The Boys Out Of Context Clips who shared it at the time, writing: "What if this is foreshadowing..." Then after the events of the opening episode, they added: "Well shit". Yep, sums up our thoughts exactly too.

The Boys season 5 is airing weekly on Prime Video. For more on the new TV show, check out our The Boys season 5 recap and our guide to The Boys season 5 release schedule.
