Weekly paper's CCTV campaign triumph

A lengthy campaign pioneered by weekly newspaper, the Chard and Ilminster News, has ended in victory. The paper launched a campaign in September 2004 to protect Chard's town centre with a CCTV camera and one was duly installed two weeks ago. Chief reporter Alex Cameron said: "We believe CCTV will be a useful tool for deterring and catching criminals". (Via chardandilminsternews.co.uk)
