Weekend weather woe in East Kilbride as Met Office issue 'danger to life' warning

The Met Office have issued a weather warning for East Kilbride ahead of the weekend - with heavy rain and thunderstorms on the way.

The weather warning in place for tomorrow states there "is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings" and "a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."

The warning states that where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

Spray and flooding could also make it difficult for drivers with "difficult driving conditions and some road closures" on the cards.

The Met Office add "there is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads."

The news for Saturday and Sunday isn't any better for locals  with locals also warned to beware "lightning strikes".

They also note that "there is a slight chance that power cuts could occur."
