Weekend weather forecast for Nottinghamshire as temperatures are set to soar

Temperatures look set to soar at the weekend and the Met Office has predicted Nottinghamshire could be as warm as Portugal.

The sunny spell comes just days after a dusting of sleet and snow fell in some areas of the county last weekend, when the wintry weather from up north moved further down the country.

Friday (April 3) and Saturday (April 4) are predicted to be very cloudy, with temperatures only reaching a maximum of nine and 12 degrees Celsius respectively.

However, come 4pm on Sunday, April 5, thermometers are predicted to display temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius.

This will make some areas of Nottinghamshire as warm as Lisbon, Portugal, and even a couple of degrees higher than both Athens in Greece and Madrid in Spain.

Hourly weather forecast for Saturday, April 4

Saturday will be much cooler, but the Met Office predictions show temperatures slowly rising.

7am: 3C, high humidity at 90%

10am: 7C

1pm: 11C

4pm: 11C, stronger winds towards the afternoon with gusts up to 25mph

7pm: 10C

10pm: 8C

Hourly weather forecast for Sunday, April 5

While Sunday will start off cool, the day looks set to be graced with some sunshine and warmer temperatures towards the afternoon.

7am: 6C

10am:10C

1pm: 16C, strong wind gusts of up to 36mph towards midday may take the heat away

4pm: 18C

7pm:15C

10pm: 13C

Temperatures will be both higher than Athens, which looks set to be around 14C with some rain, and on-par with Lisbon in Portugal, where temperatures will be around 17-18C with rain showers.

The sunny spell at the weekend will be leaving come Monday, April 6, however, as the rain looks set to come back with temperatures of just 11C.
