Weekend weather forecast for Nottingham and what we could expect when it comes to sunshine

That little glimpse of spring we all enjoyed at the weekend has quickly disappeared and the question on most people's minds today is when will it be back and more importantly, will it be back for the weekend?

While we don't want to see the country parks fill up to the extent they did this weekend as crowds flocked to parks to enjoy the sunny weather and police officers were called to disperse large numbers of people enjoying the sunshine at the Arboretum, everyone would benefit from another sunny weekend to lift the spirits - even if it can only be enjoyed in our gardens or while exercising outside.

The week ahead is looking mixed, with low cloud and fog for most of the week as well as a passing afternoon shower forecast for Wednesday. By the time we get to Friday though, we may be in for a little sunshine, although it will be chilly with a high of 6 degrees and low of -1 degree.

Saturday could be better though, according to AccuWeather. It has forecast that we'll be enjoying some sunny spells. However, you'll need to make the most of them because they'll be short-lived.

While Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend with clouds and sunny spells, it won't be a scorcher, but then it is still only March. Temperatures for Saturday are predicted to be around 7 degrees in the daytime with a night-time low of 0 degrees.

We look set for a return to gloom by Sunday. According to the AccuWeather forecast, it will be cloudy with rain and drizzle in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to drop as well with 3 degrees by day and a night time temperature feeling like -4 degrees.
