Week-long break as Coronation Street cancelled and Emmerdale moved

All episodes of Coronation Street are to be cancelled for a full week, leaving fans without their Weatherfield fix.

No episodes of the soap will sir between the ones on Wednesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 16.

The ITV schedule is being changed to make way for the England matches at Euro 2020.

While the Wednesday episodes will air, there will be no episode on Friday, October 11 or Monday, October 14 when England play the Czech Republic and Bulgaria in the qualifiers.

England will be playing Czech Republic on the Friday and on the Monday they are up against Bulgaria in the competition's qualifying matches.

Emmerdale episodes will also be cancelled on the same days - but there will be hour-long episodes on Tuesday and Thursday.

The changes to the schedule follow recent disruption caused by the Rugby World Cup, which shifted shows including This Morning and Loose Women.
