Line: Navy +3.5 | Staff Picks

Final Score: Navy 34, Air Force 25

Recap: Sean –

Considering how underwhelming Air Force performed for the first three quarters of the game, to score and have the lead with little more than three minutes left is probably more than you could ask for.
Unfortunately for Air Force, what was a suspect secondary entering the game was confirmed by games end. The Falcon secondary was exposed often (not just for a Navy game) and didn’t recover when it mattered the most on the Mids game clinching drive.
The secondary can’t shoulder all of the blame though. What you would expect to have been a decided advantage by way of the passing game for Air Force certainly was not. Donald Hammond struggled, missing receivers routinely and continuing a really disturbing trend of turnovers.  His counterpart in Malcolm Perry, on the other hand, shined in every aspect.
An end game recovery score by the Mids on a desperate Air Force last ditch effort made the score look worse at 34-25. What should not be lost in this was a heroic effort by Moses Fifita, and solid kicking yet again by Jake Koehnke.
The Falcons have plenty to work on and little time to do so as they are about to start down a very difficult stretch of the schedule. Turnovers continue to be an issue. The defenses front seven covered up for the offenses generous nature, recovering two fumbles, but Air Force is playing with fire.
Time to regroup because Fresno State comes to town next Saturday.

San Diego State at Colorado State

8 p.m. ET, TV: ESPN2 | Get Tickets
Line: Colorado State +7.5 | Staff Picks

Final Score: San Diego State 24, Colorado State 10

Recap: @erwinsports

The San Diego State offense had a lot to prove after gifting Utah State their first conference win. Ryan Agnew went 16 of 20 for 174 yards and 3 touchdowns in the victory.

While the offense had to make a statement in Fort Collins, the Aztec defense is outperforming their expectations. The defense didn’t allow a touchdown until the 4th quarter and went +4 in turnovers. Luq Barcoo performed the rare hat trick of 3 interceptions in one game, and give him extra credit for picking off both Colorado State’s quarterbacks. This defense is playing out of their mind.

Boise State at UNLV

10:30 p.m. ET, TV: CBS Sports Network | Get Tickets
Line: UNLV +23 | Staff Picks

Final Score: Boise State 38, UNLV 13

Recap: Erik

Boise State walks out of Sam Boyd Stadium for the final time in the regular season with a victory.  As impressive as the 38-13 score was, there are still some concerns for the Broncos coming off the bye week.  The defense picked up where it left off by making any yards very difficult to come by. The offense showed improvement by mostly keeping Hank Bachmeier clean throughout the game but struggled running the ball in short-yardage situations.  The most concerning aspect of the win was the penalties. The Broncos were flagged 10 times, giving up 130 yards, and set up helped set up UNLV’s first touchdown. Sloppy play like that will won’t hurt too bad against UNLV but could prove fatal to NY6 dreams against Hawaii, BYU, or Wyoming.

John Hightower came off the bye week hot getting a touchdown and gaining 176 yards on 7 touches.  As impressive as that is, congratulations go out to STUD Curtis Weaver, who’s 3 sacks tonight gave him 29.5 career sacks, which breaks the record for the all-time Mountain West career record.
