Week 5 NFL TV schedule and game maps

Dear NFL, did we do something wrong? Is there a reason this happens every year? Why must you torture fans? Television people, what do we need to do to see a change happen? Should we protest? Don’t act like you don’t know what I am talking about. You know exactly what I am addressing. There are only two afternoon games this week.

Look, I know that there are byes. I understand that there have to be games in London and one of those games is Oakland and they would host a later window game. Move things around. Shake up the schedule. Even things out. Fans want it.

Now that that’s out of the system, CBS has the single game this week. The most intriguing matchup may be the Bills versus the Titans and that’s not going to be fun unless you love running games and defense. The most interesting early game on Fox is an NFC South battle.

As a heads up, there isn’t even a map available for the Fox afternoon slate. You’ll get Packers v. Cowboys and you’ll like it. At least Aikman and Buck make their triumphant return to Sunday. Thanks to 506Sports.com, per usual.

CBS Single Game (1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT and 4:00 p.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. PT)

Baltimore @ Pittsburgh Ian Eagle, Dan Fouts
New England @ Washington Greg Gumbel, Trent Green
NY Jets @ Philadelphia Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon
Buffalo @ Tennessee Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta
Jacksonville @ Carolina Andrew Catalon, James Lofton
Denver @ LA Chargers (4:00 p.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. PT) Jim Nantz, Tony Romo

We’ve reviewed the Buffalo and Tennessee game. The rest of the slate is a struggle unless you think Pittsburgh fixed its issues at home against the pitiful Bengals on Monday night. Jacksonville versus Carolina could be an interesting matchup of backup quarterbacks looking to make their jobs permanent.

Fox Early Game (1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT)

Minnesota @ NY Giants Sam Rosen, Charles Davis

Atlanta @ Houston Kenny Albert, Ronde Barber

Arizona @ Cincinnati Thom Brennaman, Chris Spielman

Tampa Bay @ New Orleans Chris Myers, Daryl Johnston

Chicago vs Oakland  Dick Stockton, Mark Schlereth

No Game due to NFL Blackout Rules

This early slate isn’t much better. If the Bucs win against the Saints they could at least make the NFC South competitive. There’s good news for rookie head coaches since either Kliff Kingsbury or Zac Taylor has to win a game this Sunday. If they tie, it would be funny and sad at the same time.
